can a lab tell the difference between suboxone and subutex

I accidentally told my employer that I was taking Subutex, when I'm really taking Suboxone. I had to take a drug test today and am freaking out that they are going to realize that I told them the wrong thing. Will the drug test show the difference or am I okay?

It will look like you've been taking heroin when the results of the drug test come back. You'll have to show a prescription to prove you haven't been using it.

Suboxone and Subutex are so similar that the drug test won't show the difference. You should tell your employer about the mistake that you made though.

The drug tests don't detect the Burprenorphine all the time so there is a good chance that nothing will show up on the test.

Most employers will require you to show a prescription if you test postive for drugs. This means that they are going to find out you told them the wrong thing when you told them you were taking Subutex.
