I've been taking suboxone for a year and I feel like it isn't really working for me anymore. This medication doesn't have a strong effect on me. Why is this? Is it possible I've dulled the receptors in my brain or something?

Your body has become accustomed to the suboxone in your system. Your suboxone receptors are certainly different than they were a year ago, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Maybe it's time to speak to your doctor about getting off of suboxone for good.

I noticed the same thing after I had been taking suboxone for a year. I think your body and brain just gets used to it over time, so it isn't anything to be too concerned about.

If you use suboxone incorrectly and not as prescribed by your doctor, then you do run the risk of burning out your receptors. Have you followed your prescription? Ask your doctor for clarification.

You may have burned out your suboxone receptors if you feel like the medication is no longer having its intended effect on you. That being said, this is probably a good thing as you don't want to be taking suboxone forever. I would check with your doctor for more details.
