I have decided that I want to start using Suboxone to quit using drugs, but am afraid I'll get in trouble for it. Is Suboxone considered a controlled substance? Will I get in trouble with the cops if I get caught with it if I don't have a prescription for it?

Suboxone is a controlled substance and penalty for having a controlled substance in your possession without a prescription varies from state to state and depending on the amount that you have.

Just go to your doctor and get a prescription for it. It will make your life much easier and you won't have to worry about getting jail time for trying to get clean.

Suboxone isn't considered a controlled substance. It's just hard to get. If you get your hands on it, just don't tell anyone you have it.

Having Suboxone without a prescription is illegal. It doesn't matter if you are trying to get clean or not.
