Asked: 2019-12-12 01:07:26

I have recently seen some people who were in the recovery of heroin addiction affirming that they were using “strips drugs” during their treatment. Does anyone here understand what strips drugs actually mean or what kind of substance is this?

They were probably referring to Suboxone or a similar drug. It’s often used to treat the symptoms of heroin addiction withdrawal.

Suboxone is probably what they meant. It’s used to treat heroin addiction, so it sounds about right. These drugs are generally sold in strips because this could make them easier to absorb.

I really have no idea. Have you ever thought about asking them? I mean, they were probably near you if you heard them.

Strips drugs are one way to call Suboxone. People often choose to call it this way because it comes in sublingual strips. They are absorbed quickly after the patient uses it. In case you are curious, Suboxone is an opioid blocker that is used a lot in treatment. It’s made 80% of buprenorphine and 20% of naloxone, which has the blocking properties.

By the context and the term, I would believe that they were probably referring to Suboxone. It comes in film strips that you can put under your tongue, which is why it got the name.
