  5. what is 1mg of suboxone equal to

I'm looking at my son's prescription for suboxone so that I get a better understanding of his treatment plan and how I can help him through this process. Does anyone know what 1mg of suboxone is equal to? The more I know about this, the better.

I don't know about 1mg, but when I started my treatment I was on 2mg buprenorphine and .5 mg naloxone. Does that help you at all? I hate math so I struggle with the equivalencies too!

I'm sorry to hear about your son's substance abuse struggles, but I'm glad he's getting the help he needs and deserves. This really depends on what you're trying to compare it to, and in what format he's taking the suboxone. For example, an oral strip that will be dissolved on the tongue has a different dosage than a suboxone pill. If you have more questions about this I think it's a really good idea to ask his doctor.

Hmm, 1mg of suboxone sounds pretty small to me, but I'd imagine that would be .75mg of buprenorphine and .25mg of naloxone, if I have my ratios right.

The answer depends on what kind of suboxone he's taking. You can take this medication in a few different ways, such as sublingual (under the tongue), buccal (in the cheek) or by swallowing pills. You can ask your doctor or pharmacist to distinguish between these different options.

What good will it do you? He's doomed if he's addicted.
