I'm really interested in getting clean but I've heard that subutex is better than suboxone for these purposes. Is it actually better? Why?

it depends on what you are using this type of drug for. Suboxone contains both buprenorphine and naloxone which means you don't have opiate withdrawal symptoms but the receptors in your brain won't respond to any other opioid medication. Subutex only contains buprenorphine. both can be effective in treating opiate addiction when used properly and in conjunction with counseling/therapy. you should note that if you happen to relapse while on suboxone, you won't necessarily get 'high' which could make you overdose if you continue to take opiates because you're not getting high

neither subutex nor suboxone is better. I preferred methadone. I think it comes down to what you and your doctor choose as your treatment plan & what works for you
