Hey, my brother is taking suboxone but I think his doctor wants to take him off it. How long does it take to taper off of this stuff? I don't want him to do it wrong. I guess I just worry too much.

Some people taper for as long as 7 to 28 days. However, a lot of people remain on the suboxone stuff if it's recommended to by their doctor.

It can really depend on the doctor or the patient on how long it's needed for the patient to taper off suboxone. Some patients taper off on a 7-day plan while others do a 28-day plan. However, it should be talked over with your doctor since they might suggest a longer taper than another's.

Everyone is different so some need more time and some only need as little as 7 days while others need 28 days or longer to taper off of suboxone.

It really depends on each patient and what the doctor's patient recommends. The average is anywhere from 7 to 28 days for someone to taper off suboxone.
