What happened to my 500 word long question

I just typed in a long explanitory 500 word question. Then it told me i had to log in. So i did and then it asked me to enter a question. WTF?? What happened to my first question and why the hell would i waste another hour and a half typing the same question in when it already lost, deleted, or just plain ignored?
