at my doctor's appointment the other day he was telling me something about a ceiling effect when I am taking suboxone. I didn't wanna seem stupid by asking what it was so I just made a mental note to figure it out later. So… what is the ceiling effect when it comes to suboxone?

a ceiling effect is the max level of high that you can feel from a drug

because suboxone isn't meant to get you high, it is made so that after a certain dose you don't feel increased effects.

it basically means you can't take more than your allotted dose and see 'better' results…

with certain drugs, suboxone included, there is only so much effect (or high) that you can get. So basically, after a certain dose is reached, the effects are the same as a lower dose. This is done in hopes to keep people from overdosing/taking too much in order to get high.
