I am a recent graduate of an RN program. I also happen to have a problem with taking too many lortabs. I know I can lose my license if I'm found out but Im afraid of withdrawals and relapsing because of them. Can I be a nurse and still take suboxone?

yes, a nurse can take suboxone as long as they are going through the proper channels of obtaining it and following the treatment plan. Unfortunately, while being in early recovery, especially if you have been caught doing something against the rules of the workplace/illegal, you will have your license limited and probably will have to take drug screens, attend meetings, and other tasks. this is not that different than the standard medication assisted treatment (MAT) but you will have to follow everything to a T to avoid having your license revoked.

you can take it, but I wouldn't recommend going back to work the day you start treatment
