how much suboxone to take first day

I’m going to go to a rehab clinic to try to stop using drugs. I know that they are going to give me Suboxone, but how much of it are they going to let me take at first? I don’t want withdrawal to totally suck and I know it can help.

You aren’t given Suboxone when you first get to a rehab clinic. They have to drug test you to find out if there are any drugs in your system and make sure that they won’t interact poorly with the Suboxone before you start taking it.

Before you can start Suboxone treatment, all of the effects of the opioids that you are on have to subside. If they give you the Suboxone too soon, it can cause your withdrawal symptoms to become intensified. The staff at the clinic can determine when and how much Suboxone you need to take.

You’ll get a dose right away to ensure that you don’t have to feel any of the withdrawal symptoms. If you start feeling bad, they’ll just give you more.
