Hello. For years I dealt with chronic pain. Sometimes it’s better, but most of the time it’s not. Recently, I discovered that there are some opioids which are not as addictive as morphine such as Zubsolv. Can I use Zubsolv for pain relief or do I have to look for another kind of medication?

for other things. Its main effects are to provide a dosage of opioids to the body while blocking their effect so that the user will be free to live their lives without suffering from the symptoms of withdrawal.

No, Zubsolv can only be used in the treatment of opioid addiction, according to the FDA. The main reason for this is that it’s simply not very effective. Yes, it is much less addictive than similar substances, but the trick here is that it also doesn’t have the same strong effects for the same reason. The naloxone present in this substance blocks the opioids from attaching to the brain receptors and the relieving effect simply does not work. You should use another medication.

This drug would not be very effective for the treatment of chronic pains. Its properties are just not what you would expect of a pain killer. You should consult with a doctor to find a better answer.

Zubsolv is not recommended for pain management. Just like the popular Suboxone, it contains the opioid buprenorphine but it does also contain another substance called naloxone. Naloxone is an opioid blocker, meaning that it blocks the usual effects provided by these drugs. It is because of this that you can’t use it for relieving the pain.
