does suboxone help with alcoholism

Addiction is big round these parts. My two best friends have different issues - one's weapon of choice is pain pills and the other one is the bottle. The girl on pills has now been taking suboxone for a few months and we want to get G clean too, does suboxone work for alcoholics?
