I have been on Suboxone for quite a while and just found an opened pack with a few pills in it. Can I take them or would it be dangerous? How long does Suboxone last after it's opened?

Suboxone that is left open could be contaminated. This is because it hasn't been kept secure from it's surroundings and you don't know what could have touched it. Don't use it.

If you are out and really need Suboxone, just go ahead and take it. It should be fine.

Contact your prescriber and talk to them about it. They should be able to let you know if it's safe to take or not. You need to be sure that it's the same dose that you are currently taking and they will be able to tell you if it is or not.

Open Suboxone should never be taken. When Suboxone is exposed to the elements for long periods of time it's strength diminishes and it beomes less effective.

If you don't know how long it has been since you opened the package of Suboxone you shouldn't use it. It could have expired and be dangerous for you to use.
